Cassidy

I first met Cassidy through another member who referred her to our Getting Ahead class. She attended Getting Ahead and completed and graduated from this class all while pregnant and delivering her first child. She also helped me co-facilitate another Getting Ahead class. While doing this, she was able to gain leadership skills. Cassidy has stayed in contact with me for various programs that CMCA offers. She has enrolled in FOC and I  have been working with her for several months now. Over the years, Cassidy has had some setbacks. Her daughters inspire her to keep moving forward to provide a better life for them. Since enrolling in FOC, Cassidy has made a budget, gotten a better understanding of her credit, and become employed at a steady job. She has also continued to work closely with probation so that she can move forward from legal issues in the past. This does not define her as she sets goals for herself and achieves them. She is now working at Scholastic in a company that offers growth and is flexible with her schedule. Cassidy balances being a mother and scheduling childcare between her and her boyfriend/family members so that her children are in a safe and affordable environment, and also working.  She has been able to maintain employment now for 90 days and has money coming into her home to budget. She continues to work on her employment goals and budget to sustain her housing and other bills.
