Madi was a high school student when she learned she was pregnant with her first child. She connected with a CMCA home-based Head Start prenatal parent educator, who brought Madi helpful baby items and coached her on parenting skills, personal goals, and strengthening her finances.
With support, Madi graduated on time, earned her cosmetology license, and began her career. Working with her coach on budgeting, she was able to buy a house before her second daughter was born. Today, both of Madi’s daughters attend Head Start, learning what they need to be ready for Kindergarten.
Madi hasn’t stopped her growth trajectory either. She has a five-year plan and is ahead of her schedule. She saw a need for a barber in her community, and enrolled in barber school. She works hard every day to build a solid foundation for herself and her children.
