Getting Ahead Graduation Celebration

“Getting Ahead in a Just-Gittin’-By World” is a 50-hour curriculum written for individuals living in poverty that teaches them how to examine the impact that poverty has on individuals, families, and communities.  “Investigators” are guided by a facilitator as they do the work of exploring, examining, and processing information. By exploring and analyzing the themes of their lives, assessing their own resources, building their future stories, making concrete plans for economic stability, and becoming skillful at using the hidden rules of class to build resources, Getting Ahead graduates are able to develop a solid path to self-reliance.
